If you are a student considering graduate studies in optics or communications then there are many opportunities for you in the EECS Dept. at the University of Michigan! If you are already enrolled in the EE or EE: Systems Graduate Program here at Michigan, then feel free to contact me via email to set up a meeting.
If you are not yet enrolled, then you should consider applying for admission. Unfortunately it generally does not help for you to email me before you have enrolled. I get a large number of such email inquiries from students asking whether their credentials are sufficient to be admitted, whether I have room in my group, whether I can offer an assistantship, etc. I am unable to answer most of these inquiries, and thus my best advice to prospective students is to apply for admission and financial aid and see what happens.
